Principal's Message

Hello CFT Parents and Community,

I am extremely honored to have been chosen to serve the Edcouch Elsa Community in this capacity. I grew up in a migrant family of 14. My father had a 2nd grade education and my mother had a 6th grade education.  We did not have a great deal of money but we were extremely happy none the less.

As most parents often do, my parents sought to provide a better life for their 12 children.  They are the most successful individuals that I have ever known.  They set a goal, formulated a plan, and gave all they had to make it a reality.  Every penny earned, every drop of sweat was devoted to helping their children succeed.  I am proud to say that all 12 children graduated high school.  All 12 children graduated from some form of post-secondary education.  I am a firm believer that a strong Education provides an equal opportunity for all, no matter what your background.

As a result of my upbringing, I have devoted the last 33 years to the field of education.  Twenty- one years as a teacher, 9 years as an Instructional Facilitator / Coach and 3 years as Assistant Principal.   I believe whole heartedly that All of our Youth are worth the time and the energy that it takes to help them succeed.  As a parent, I understand the need to advocate for your child.  As a principal, I have an obligation to advocate for the needs of All of our children here at Truan, regardless of their background.

I humbly ask for your support and understanding in all of the decisions and actions that our Administration takes. Please know that we are here to act in the best interest of All of our students.
