Edcouch-Elsa ISD ACE Program Introduction
We are excited to announce the implementation of the 21st Century Community Learning Center program also known as the ACE Afterschool Program in Edcouch-Elsa ISD.
The ACE program is funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Federal Grant administered by the U.S. Department of Education. The key purpose of this grant is to support the academic goals of each participating school campus by providing intentional afterschool activities that support school day learning. It targets students most in need.

Program Objectives and Services
Each ACE program site is customized to support each campus improvement plan with the goal of improving students’ academic performance, attendance, behavior, and increasing promotion and graduation rates. We propose to reach our goals by strategically offering the following ACE activities:
Tutoring in conjunction with HB 4545 Initiative
Homework assistance
Academic enrichment activities such as STEMS/STEAMS, Reading Clubs, Journalism Clubs, Writing Clubs, and more.
Enrichment activities such as STEMS/STEAMS, dance, cheer, folkloric, sports (non-UIL), NASP Archery, Chess, Guitar, Conjunto/Accordion, Outdoor Cooking Club, Cosmetology, GreenpowerUSA Electric Racing Car Club, Sewing Club, Robotics, Gaming, Arts & Crafts, Photography Club, Culinary Arts, Gardening Club, Recycling Club, and much more.

Program Schedule
The ACE program will offer 29 weeks of activities during the fall, spring, and six weeks summer term for a total of 35 weeks – 29 weeks during the fall and spring and 6 weeks during summer. ACE Program schedule is as follow:
Elementary Campuses – JFK Elem., LBJ Elem., RCR Elem., and SG Elem.
Before School: 6:45a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
Afterschool: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
David Ybarra Academy and Carlos F. Truan Junior High
Before School: 6:45 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
Afterschool: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Edcouch-Elsa High School:
Before School: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Afterschool: 4:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
