Edcouch, Texas – August, 17, 2023 – The Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District (EEISD) is pleased to announce that Dr. Alda T. Benavides has been selected as the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Benavides brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of educational leadership to the district. With a career spanning over several decades in education, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, innovative teaching practices, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Her dedication to continuous improvement aligns seamlessly with the district's mission of providing an exceptional education to all students within the Edcouch-Elsa community.
As the lone finalist, Dr. Benavides will engage in further discussions and negotiations with the Edcouch-Elsa ISD School Board Trustees before assuming the role of Superintendent of Schools. Her leadership qualities, educational vision, and community engagement approach have already resonated positively with the school board, staff, parents, and community members.
