Edcouch-Elsa ISD Celebrates Child Nutrition Employees on School Lunch Hero Day
Edcouch-Elsa, TX – May 3, 2024 – Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District proudly celebrates School Lunch Hero Day, recognizing the dedicated school nutrition employees who go above and beyond to ensure students receive nutritious meals with a smile every day.
On the first Friday in May, Edcouch-Elsa ISD joins communities nationwide in honoring the unsung heroes of school cafeterias. These individuals play a vital role in the health and well-being of students by preparing meals that meet nutrition standards, accommodating food allergies, and fostering a positive dining environment.
“Our child nutrition employees are true heroes,” said Dr. Jesse Fidelio Garza, Public Relations & Parental Outreach Administrator. “Not only do they work behind the scenes to provide students with meals, they also serve up kindness and compassion with every plate.”
