Unleashing Creativity: 10th Grader Spence Almaguer Finds His Passion in Art at Edcouch-Elsa ISD
August 28, 2024 - Edcouch-Elsa ISD is proud to spotlight Spence Almaguer, a talented 10th-grade student who discovered his love for art in the 7th grade and has been passionately pursuing it ever since.
Spence first joined an art class three years ago, where he was given the opportunity to explore his creativity without limits. This initial experience allowed him to build structures freely, fueling his interest in various art forms. Spence says, “I enjoy all art and media because I get to be creative and create my own ideas.”
Looking ahead, Spence is particularly excited about the variety of artistic techniques that will be covered in his upcoming classes. “Miss Ozayu is one of our new educators and she’s doing an incredible job exposing students to a wide range of art forms, including building and sculpting, which aligns perfectly with Spence’s aspirations,” Dr. Jesse Fidelio Garza, Public Relations Administrator shared.
“This class is going to help me in the future because we’re going to cover many different types of art forms, including sculpting. That’s what I want to do, and I’d like to learn about selling sculptures,” Spence shares.
The school district is committed to providing students with opportunities to explore their creative interests through various group activities and projects. These experiences not only help students like Spence develop their skills but also encourage collaboration and foster a sense of community.
Edcouch-Elsa ISD celebrates Spence’s journey and looks forward to seeing him thrive as he continues to explore his passion for art.
