Dear Parents/Guardians,
Your child and his/her teachers have been working hard to prepare for the Math and Reading or Science STAAR and/or 4th Six Weeks Exams and now the time has arrived! District Benchmark STAAR is a “practice” STAAR test used to simulate STAAR and collect student data to guide instruction. Your child will be taking:
- 3rd Grade Math Stand Alone Field Test STAAR on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 (COMPLETED)
5th Grade Science District Benchmark on Thursday, February 17, 2022 (COMPLETED)
3rd, 4th & 5th Grade Math District Benchmark on Tuesday, February 22, 2022
3rd, 4th & 5th Grade Reading District Benchmark on Wednesday, February 23, 2022
Kinder, 1st and 2nd Grade take 4th Six Weeks Exams for Reading, Math, Social Studies and Science from Monday, February 21 to Thursday, February 24, 2022
Please do not schedule appointments on these days or have early release. The campus will also be closed to visitors. Please encourage your child to do their very best on these tests and help them at home by doing the following:
Discuss the tests with your child. Talking about the tests will help ease your child’s worries and show him/her that you are interested.
Make sure your child goes to bed early and gets plenty of rest. Students’ minds and bodies need to be ready for a full day of trying their best.
Make sure your child eats a good breakfast. It is difficult for students to think and do their best if their stomach is empty. Students may eat a good breakfast in the classroom from 7:45 AM to 8:00 AM
Arrive to school on time. Being late may cause your child to feel rushed and nervous. Arriving on time will help your child feel relaxed and ready to do his/her best.
Send your child to school with words of encouragement. Hearing, “You can do it!” or “I have confidence in you!” from you means a lot to your child.
Working together, we will ensure that all children have an opportunity to do their absolute best on the District STAAR test.

- Kinder, 1.° y 2.° grado toman los exámenes de las 4.° seis semanas de lectura, matemáticas, estudios sociales y ciencias del lunes 21 de febrero al jueves 24 de febrero de 2022
Por favor, no programe citas en estos días o salga temprano. El campus también estará cerrado a los visitantes. Anime a su hijo a hacer lo mejor que pueda en estas pruebas y ayúdalo en casa haciendo lo siguiente:
Discuta las pruebas con su hijo. Hablar sobre las pruebas ayudará a aliviar las preocupaciones de su hijo y le demostrará que usted está interesado.
Asegúrese de que su hijo se acueste temprano y descanse lo suficiente. Las mentes y los cuerpos de los estudiantes deben estar preparados para un día completo de dar lo mejor de sí mismos.
Asegúrese de que su hijo coma un buen desayuno. Es difícil para los estudiantes pensar y hacer lo mejor posible si su estómago está vacío. Los estudiantes pueden tomar un buen desayuno en el salón de clases de 7:45 a. m. a 8:00 a. m.
Llegar a la escuela a tiempo. Llegar tarde puede hacer que su hijo se sienta apurado y nervioso. Llegar a tiempo ayudará a que su hijo se sienta relajado y listo para hacer lo mejor que pueda.
Envíe a su hijo a la escuela con palabras de aliento. Escuchar, "¡Tú puedes hacerlo!" o “¡Tengo confianza en ti!” significa mucho para su hijo.
Trabajando juntos, nos aseguraremos de que todos los niños tengan la oportunidad de hacer lo mejor posible en el examen STAAR del Distrito.
